Name: Forte "Bass" Cossack, otherwise known as Bass.EXE.
From: An AU based on the manga version of Rockman.EXE/Megaman NT Warrior, aged up and put through the ringer in an AIM RP
Appearance: Picture 1 for both cloak and helmet. Picture 2 for without either. And Picture 3 because he does have a scar over his eye here. Picture 4 is a general reference sheet, including colors. Yes I know I mixed up "forte" and "fortissimo" but I was tired when I drew it and I'm too lazy to fix it.
Age: About 38
Gender: Male
Personality: Bass is generally pretty quiet, if only because he's generally found being The Observer wherever you least expect him, or least want him. This isn't to say he's shy, which he isn't, not by ANY stretch of the word. But he keeps his cards close to his chest, often only choosing to show one at a time; it generally takes a special person for Bass to lay down his whole hand. He lets people speak first, make their own guesses and assumptions, and he's fond of telling half truths and speaking in circles. Anyone who's not up to verbally sparring with him will generally get ignored (or so it seems).

Though Bass outwardly appears expressionless, maybe even emotionless at times, you could consider him like a recently cooled field of lava. It may look hard and stony, but just under the surface is a roiling, seething mass of hot magma (in this case, his temper), ready at any time to surge up and consume you whole. He is a scary person when angry, and will not hesitate to take a killshot. If a person is making him angry enough, he'd rather stop talking and let his attacks get the point across.

Between these two extremes lies a wide stretch of sarcasm, as Bass's other "main" expression (besides neutral and RAWR) is a smirk. He's often condescending, and will make a point of stating the obvious when a person fails, just to make it cut deeper. However, with those he gets along better with the snark is lighter, acting more as the typical banter between friends. In fact, a good measure of how much Bass likes you is how much real amusement/good humor shows up in his smirk.
Backstory: Ooh boy. Bass got his start at the dawning computer age in the SciLab Net Navi development area. Up until this point all Navis had been dependent on humans for input and battle data, so Bass was started as a project to create the first solo Navi, able to use 100% of his power without anything from a human. Needless to say they succeeded, which made Bass extraordinarily strong from the get-go. Unfortunately that also made him somewhat arrogant, especially when up against the "weak" Navis and defenses the fledgling network had at the time. He regularly defeated and deleted them, in his mind pointing out gaps in security, although the Navis and their scientists didn't take it that way- in fact, they hated Bass for this, and wanted him deleted. Thankfully Bass's creator Dr. Cossack always vouched for him, and he stayed safe for the moment.

Sometime during this period, an unknown temporal disturbance knocked Bass several years into the future (more on that in a minute), but he "soon" returned and everything went back to normal. That is, until he took his "work" too far, and the scientists minus Cossack all voted to have him sealed up and his power restrained. Cossack took this news pretty hard, feeling bad for his creation- no, his friend. But his daily visits to Bass kept the jailed Navi in high spirits, and he managed it well enough. Then one day the network-- then centered around a coalesced being named "Alpha" --started glitching and breaking down. Bass was blamed for this, and the scientists (though once again minus Cossack) voted to have him deleted for good. The Navis were sent out en masse to carry this out, claiming that all the scientists were in on this; Bass mistakenly believed Cossack was in on that, and in that instant all his love for his creator turned to hatred and rage. Despite his bindings he struck out against the Navis, deleting most of them in one pulse of power. One of the remaining ones gave him a diagonal scar across his chest in the process, before they were called off once it was discovered Alpha was to blame.

Feeling betrayed, Bass broke out of the SciLab system and began roaming the network as it grew and expanded over the whole world. Using his Get Ability powers he took attacks from other Navis, making himself all the more horrifically strong in the process, pumping that into a desire to wipe out humanity itself for the wrongful betrayal by his creators. During this time he met and fought Megaman on several occasions, finding him to be the first Navi ever capable of meeting his own power and exceeding it. Thinking Megaman to be the one that could finally sate his burning anger and hatred he sought him out again and again, each time more terrible than the last.

During his mid to late 20's Bass came across an interesting area of the network, a place that had merged with the real world to create a sort of "half space." Though it looked and felt like Everytown, USA he found he could materialize, something Navis normally aren't supposed to do. In his twisted mind he found this the perfect place to watch humanity from, all the better to study them and know just how to destroy them. He remained around the nexus of this break, a large house out in the city's sparse suburbs, backed by a large forest; Bass's antics in the house drove out the original owner (claiming ghosts no less) just as a young man named Crmsn (nickname; real not given) was moving in. Crmsn was soon followed by CB (ditto on the name), two humans who, despite everything else, intrigued Bass. No doubt this was due in part to the power they carried; both Crmsn and CB were DigiDestined, as well as having gained secondary Digimon forms themselves due to misadventures elsewhere. Crmsn's in particular carried a lot of darkness just waiting to be unleashed, and so Bass suck around. He started a sort of warped protection over them, secretly keeping them safe from things as mundane as the police (as both were wanted, but that's another story) to as fantastical as demons (also another story). CB and Crmsn were followed by other beings such as the enigmatic Azureal; Crmsn's Digimon partner; and then eventually the prize himself- Megaman. Others came along as well (such as Megaman's Net Op) but here, Bass decided to show himself, having been secretly inhabiting this house the whole time.

Unfortunately, someone else had decided to do it for him. Somehow discovering that Bass was there and what he was there for, the demonic evil dragon Digimon Zeyomon lured him onto the digital plane and attacked him, attempting to suck out his massive amounts of dark power. Bass got away but not without grave injuries, passing out-- in full view --on CB's bed. He was repaired down in the labs that were built under the house's backyard, despite protests from the Navis of the house who were familiar with Bass and what he was capable of. Unfortunately before he was fully recovered Zeyomon struck again, managing this time to lure out Crmsn's own latent evil, a chained dragon named UltimaRyuumon, sealed by his Crest power. Bass sensed his chance at last and broke free from the med unit, absorbing most of Crmsn's Crest power during the fight. With it he turned the tables on Zeyomon (which the others had been having massive trouble with) and sent him packing.

The absorption of the Crest started an odd change in Bass, however. Crmsn's Crest was that of Loyalty, and this fed in to memories of Bass's (time travel; again, more on that in a second, I'm getting there honest), as well as tweaking whatever remained of his old self buried deep inside. His protection over the house and its inhabitants started to change, or at least the reasons behind it. He was, dare I say it, starting to like them? This was certainly helped along by their own changing attitudes toward him once he began fighting for them, as well as his ability to cross fuse with CB (no doubt due in no small part to Crmsn's unwitting influence, as Crmsn was CB's love interest and eventual wife). They certainly proved to him that humans were not the hateful beings he'd made them out to be. Along this time period he also reunited with Dr. Cossack for the first time since the Alpha Rebellion as it was called, and made his peace with him. Bass also gained a son, Legato, during this time period-- due to the unique aspects of the area, Cross Fusion brings together not only the digital and flesh bodies but also their DNA, and as "CBass" was an opposite gender fusion, this has a small chance of creating a pregnancy. Which is, well, what happened. Though he never outwardly admitted it Bass cared for Legato most, and always stuck close to his side.

But this all wasn't to be. It can be traced to two events: one, the arrival of a Mew that was named Kat once phlebotinum certain events gave her the ability to assume a human form; and two, Bass's own younger self arriving at the house, named Resonate to differentiate him from his older self. The sight of Resonate stirred unwelcome feelings in Bass, making him remember his lost innocence, and bringing back the sheer pain of the Rebellion. Resonate and Kat beginning to fall in love hadn't helped matters, as despite saying otherwise Bass had remembered all of this (also helping his changing attitudes about the house because of the memories technically being in his past). With this and several other events and feelings piling on top of each other, Bass left the house soon after a huge argument with Crmsn, although his reasons weren't actually related to the fight. He began wandering the world much as he had before, although on more of an inner quest rather than one for power. All he left behind was a flower in CB and Crmsn's bedroom, and his helmet in Legato's.

Though he had officially left the house he would remain in the general area for the next two years, which wound up paying off. When Resonate experienced the Alpha Rebellion in his own time he, with all that fresh hatred and pain, used a time-traveling power he'd taken previously to return to the house and attack his former loved ones, enraged that they didn't tell him what was to come (even though that would have disrupted the timestream). Midway through the fight (in which Resonate was thrashing them) he's distracted by a large power nearby and goes off to find out what it is: this turns out to be Bass in part of the forest near the house. He fights Resonate, earning the scar over his eye before he was able to open a warp and send him back to his proper time (also giving himself Earthbreaker-- stable time loops, don't ya love 'em?).

Bass has come to Ink City about a year after this event, between the Resonate fight and the time he returns to his son in secret (having left Legato when he was 3-4, to return when he's 8).
Moral Standing: Chaotic Neutral
Dreams: Unknown
Fears: Unknown (Hint: Loss)
Extra: HE'S A DESTROYER OF WORLDS. No, really. One of his attacks is called Hell's Rolling (seen above), one is called Vanishing World, and yet another is called motherfuckin' EARTHBREAKER. He's also able to vanish and reappear at will, oftentimes without anyone even noticing he did it. He likes to stand invisible in places, or up high, and be The Observer, as stated above. And his power level is OVER 9000, which he's very adept at hiding. If he concentrated, half the city would be leveled. Thankfully he keeps this all under wraps but the potential is still there. The cloak itself has a barrier against projectile attacks. And yes, that's all canon stuff.
